A Tradition to Foster Community

On the last Friday of each month, the Park City Gallery Association (PCGA) hosts a “gallery stroll” along Main Street and beyond. The public is encouraged to visit the participating galleries and experience an evening of art unique to Park City. The “Last Friday” stroll has been ongoing for over 23 years and is a special part of local creative engagement and community building. Artists, collectors, creatives, townies, and tourists all come together to witness the beauty of a close knit, art-centric mountain town. Susan Swartz Studios is a proud member of PCGA and delights in fostering the growth of the Park City art scene.

Occasionally, a special event is planned to coincide with gallery stroll. This past Friday, August 30th, PCGA offered an evening of progressive bouquets. This event brought spring into full bloom with participants taking one flower from each gallery, resulting in a comprehensive arrangement by the end of the night. The different flowers symbolized the broad variety of art on display, and the collecting participants brought the communal interaction. Our customers and supporters are truly the keystone of our artistic community.

This event was especially fitting for our current exhibition Florescence - a celebration of nature’s vivid awakening where color, texture, and organic form bloom in unison from the canvas. Some notable works include number 15 of the Sunflowers series and number 19 of the Nature’s Bouquet series. These two pieces highlight Susan’s connection with spring, gardens, and the natural world as a whole. In addition to rich texture and vibrant color, Susan embeds real florals into her works as is visible in Sunflowers 15.
