With the 2020 Sundance Film Festival serving as the backdrop, Susan Swartz Studios presented the three-part exhibition Art & Social Justice, commemorating the debut of the documentary Aggie, which profiles Gund’s visionary leadership and activism in the arts.
Continuing Agnes Gund’s legacy of artistic cultivation, the “Women Artists from the Agnes Gund Collection” portion of this exhibition demonstrates the powerful influence of women in the arts. From abstracted landscapes to portrait photography, works from artists including Julie Mehretu, Carrie Mae Weems, and Mary Heilmann offer a glimpse into the experiences of women from all walks of life.
