Inspired by the popular event “Art In Bloom” that takes place at major museums across the country each year, Susan Swartz Studios was thrilled to collaborate with local floral designer Hayden Williams of Lambs Ear Floral Design to bring the exciting concept to Park City. Williams who is an ASFD (American School of Flower Design) certified florist with a background in fine art, created floral interpretations of eight Susan Swartz paintings across the span of two weeks, culminating in the event on July 31st. The collaboration of the two artists couldn’t have been more aligned with Swartz using botanical materials as medium on her canvases and Williams incorporating unique and unexpected organic pieces in her arrangements. The reactions to and turnout for Art In Bloom were such that Susan Swartz Studios intends to hold this event annually going forward.
In Williams’ interview with Katie Eldridge from TownLift News, she reflected, “The collaboration allowed us to explore how different artistic mediums can speak to each other.
